Now, just in time for Earth Day, the earth-conscious company is putting a special spin on one of its most popular designs, the Oca low-top sneaker.

From April 22 to April 29 you can shop the Earth Day Oca, an “ultra low-waste” edition of the Brazil-based company’s signature kick. The difference? It’s produced on demand, so when you order the shoes you’re getting a pair made just for you. 

Plus, Cariuma is also branching out further with its tree-planting initiative. Rather than plant two trees in the Brazilian Rainforest for every pair of shoes sold as it does through its usual “Pair-for-Pair” commitment, Cariuma says the company will plant 10 trees for every pair sold before the end of the month.

Want the low-down on the low-top sneaker drop? The Cariuma Earth Day Oca, which is $89 (a $10 markup from the regular shoes), is available in men’s and women’s shoe sizes 5 to 13. It comes in a sand color and bright green, for those hoping to go green in more ways than one. Each shoe is stamped on the side with the message, “Stand up for Mother Earth."

Like the regular Oca, the made-to-order Earth Day version includes a “100% vegan” insole made of organic momona oil and cork. Rather than the usual rubber outsole, however, it features the brand’s new “bloom rubber,” which it says is “especially lightweight” and made from algae.

In addition to Cariuma’s materials and trendy, minimalist look, the brand’s sneakers are known for their comfort. While we haven't tried the Earth Day Oca, our tester called the Cariuma Ibi sneaker—another of the brand’s bestselling designs—the most comfortable shoe she’s ever put on her feet. 

The Earth Day Ocas are currently available for pre-order on Cariuma’s website for $89, and will ship by August 10, 2022 at the latest. Shop fast to snag the limited-edition design.
