The best wedges from £12.50, including Versace dupes - YOU Magazine

What kind of shoe do you go for when you want a bit of height, but don’t want to spend the whole time worrying your ankle is going to roll over your heel? Enter: the wedge.

Wedges are a spring and summer staple that you can always rely on to elevate your look, especially with an espadrille or cork base. But this year, Versace introduced us to the platform heel wedge of all wedges, which the designer label has created in six colourways.

The wedges have been modelled by sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid, and Versace’s Spring 22 runway opened with singer Dua Lipa wearing a pair of the ‘triplatform sandals’ too. They’re made from satin, feature a three-strap design, and the platform heel measures approximately 6.5 inches.

Of course, the designer label carries with it a hefty price tag. Even though the black wedges are currently on sale at Net-a-Porter, down from £1,100 to £770, they’re still unaffordable for most. But we’ve spotted a high street dupe of the shoes that’s much more purse-friendly.

ZARA has taken inspiration from Versace by creating its own platform wedge. They also feature satin fabric, as well as thin straps and an ankle strap fastening. The wedge height on this pair is only 4.9 inches, but that’s not the only part of the shoe that’s lower. ZARA is selling its wedges for the much more digestible price of £59.99.
