A woman, 20, reported Aug. 3 that she had been involved in an altercation with her mother over some shoes.

Upon investigation, officers determined that the 20-year-old was the primary aggressor and charged her with two counts of assault for the incident involving her mother and 12-year-old sister.

A shoplifter at Walmart was combative with store security Aug. 8, then resisted arrest when an off-duty officer intervened.

A Taser had to be deployed to get into her custody. The Cleveland woman, 24, was charged with theft and resisting arrest after being examined at a hospital.

Officers checked on a suspected breaking and entering at a home around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and discovered that two neighboring children had been in the back yard running after their dog, which was chasing an opossum.

A resident initially reported his work laptop stolen from his vehicle Aug. 4, but later discovered he had left it at work.

A woman reported Aug. 3 that her neighbor’s landscapers had struck her vehicle with a stand-behind mower while on her driveway.

She said it caused $1,300 worth of damage and that the company denied causing the damage.

Officers referred her to the municipal court to file a civil lawsuit for reimbursement.

A resident of the Mayflower condominiums reported Aug. 3 that Dominion Gas had advised her that someone had tampered with her gas meter. No suspects were identified.

A Taco Bell manager said Aug. 1 that he was receiving threatening text messages from an unknown number. He suspected it was from an employee he had fired the previous day.

During that incident, officers responded because the employee caused a disturbance.

The manager only asked that the matter be documented in case the former employee was to return to the property.
